Why this service exists

Subsidence is one of the most stressful and expensive issues a homeowner can face. Insurance excesses sit at £1,000 or more, surveyor reports take weeks to come back, and the wrong fix can leave a property worth less than it was before any work started. The hardest part is often finding someone who actually knows the difference between a settlement crack and active subsidence, and who will give you a straight answer instead of a sales pitch.

They carry the right insurance, can produce structural calculations, and have references from work done within the last twelve months.

How we vet the specialists in our network

Before any company joins our network we check public liability insurance, professional indemnity cover and CSCS qualifications. We ask for at least three recent project references and check their Companies House record for stability. We follow up after the first few jobs they take from us to confirm the homeowner was happy with how the work was carried out.

If complaints come in we suspend leads to that specialist while we investigate. If we cannot get a clear answer we remove them from the network. The reason this matters is simple. The specialists in our network will become independent contractors to you the moment the lead is passed. Our job is to make sure they were worth recommending in the first place.

What happens after you submit an enquiry

Your details go to one or two specialists working in your postcode area. They contact you directly, usually within one business day. From that point the conversation is yours to drive. You are not committed to using anyone from our network. You are free to get other quotes. We do not charge homeowners.

The specialist will normally want to visit the property. A typical first visit takes around an hour. They will look at the cracks, check the floors for level, ask about nearby trees and drainage, and look at the soil type for the road. After the visit they will write up what they have found and what they recommend, and price the work against any insurance cover you have in place.
